The folks that work here do so because they care about the mission, which makes for a passionate and driven workforce and good company. Salary is low but the benefits were good!

management is disorganized and operations were constantly changing. There was not a lot of oversight or clear communication. Programming would be better run by teams rather than individuals.

Vacation, health benefits, and a wage that keeps staff just over broke

Constant staff turnover for years prior to covid. Leadership, board members included, are aloof to day to day operations and lack basic understanding of KAB's programs. What the ED says goes, no matter how little he understands. HR is run by a staff member who serves as ED's personal assistant and prioritizes appeasing him above all else. Stress is high and constant amongst the staff. Many former staff will tell you it's the worst place and leadership they've ever worked for.

Thank you for providing your feedback. It is unfortunate that your role was not a match. Keep Austin Beautiful received its tenth consecutive unqualified audit opinion this year. The organization also contracts a CPA to manage the books, and has an active Governance Committee that reviews the organization's financial reports on a monthly basis.
