Vantaggi
- Decent work life balance for software engineers
- Software team and direct supervisors were very pleasant, friendly, and easy to work with
- Office was a generally an ok environment (decent pantry/kitchen, standing desks, work equipment provided)
Svantaggi
Quite honestly the most unprofessional experience I've ever had in my life stepping down from a position.
Despite not being required to, I gave a 2 week notice and had a very cordial conversation with my supervisors about my reasons for leaving the company:
- Keycentrix had broken a verbal promise they had made to me during the hiring process
- another job offer with a significant pay raise
I then offered to ease the transition and finish up as many tasks as I could in the 2 weeks. I cannot stress this enough, my supervisors were extremely understanding and even seemed apologetic.
After that, I was called by the now former CEO, Luis Rodriguez, numerous times throughout the day just so he could raise his voice at me, call me ungrateful, and say that I did not appreciate the "investment" Keycentrix had made in me. Mind you, what Keycentrix had "invested" in me at that point was paying me well below the median wage for a software engineer in Wichita at the time.
