Vantaggi
Small office of less than 10 people, mostly younger folks. Fellow employees are friendly and easy to get along with. You're rarely expected to stay late, and if you need to come in late or leave early they are reasonable. It's a casual environment.
Svantaggi
The company president, who directly manages all employees, is very high strung and tends to yell at and berate all of the employees. The treatment of employees crosses into verbal abuse. She often gives vague instructions with an expectation for the employee to "figure it out", but then once the work is done, she reviews the work and micromanages it, forcing the employee to redo the work over and over. Because of this, a simple project can take days to complete. She also from time to time will make racist, sexist, or politically inappropriate comments during work. There are also issues with how the company is run from a legal/HR standpoint. Before I was hired, I was asked to come in and work for two days "to try out" -- that is, work two days without pay before being offered the job. That's two days I was never paid for. Additionally, I never saw any paystubs, so I could not see what I was being paid or where it was going. The company offers health and dental insurance, but does not contribute for dependents. They also do not offer vision insurance.
