Amazing coworkers: Each person has unique strengths, and I am always learning from them. The team will go out of their way to help you out, and there is a strong sense of working towards a common goal to get things done. We also laugh a lot and have tons of fun when working together in person. Engaging work: I love that my role is always evolving, and I have the chance to do a bit of everything. I constantly feel challenged to think outside the box and develop creative solutions to solve a problem. Great management team: The co-founders are both visionaries and pragmatic. They are great as a team and keep each other in check. It's always interesting to see them talk about complex topics. My direct manager is the best! Very open-minded, transparent, and will jump in where possible to support the team. Management is very receptive to suggestions and will follow through if your ideas have a strong business case that propels the company forward. Employees are given a huge amount of trust and autonomy to do their work. Best of all, management cares about the employees and always put our needs first. Awesome clients: The clients are the ones who make my day amazing and keeps my job so interesting! It’s very inspirational to support Canadian small businesses and see all the fascinating products and services they create. Great work culture: Knit is an incredible place for those who have a growth mindset, prioritizes learning and believes in "leaving things better than they found it". I love that there is no ego, no-nonsense – everyone is down to earth and focused on working together to move the company forward, one day at a time. A strong sense of ownership is instilled in each of us as we are empowered to do what we think is best for the company.

There will be the occasional long hours, and sometimes, it will be like that for weeks or months. Like any place where one wants to build a career, the hours are not 9-5, so it will not work for those looking to clock in and clock out. Typical challenges of a start-up can be overwhelming at times. It also means there is an opportunity for one to have influence and contribute greatly to the growth of Knit. Sometimes there are no answers to the questions you are trying to solve, and being resourceful is key to addressing your problem. Depending on the role, there is little upfront training. However, constructive feedback is given during our daily calls and provided if asked (but you have to ask!) Too much autonomy could be a challenge for some. One must be comfortable that there is no handholding, be able to self-manage their time and stay organized to deliver on deadlines. Things can change fast at Knit, and you have to be comfortable with the unknown. It is very hard sometimes, but you will grow tremendously as a person.
