There are alot of downsides to this role.
1) There is no critical thinking needed. The role is simply plugging and chugging numbers into a excel spreadsheet everyday. Every single day is the exact same. There is no variation. Front office team looks to you like a robot cost center, and as someone that just makes mistakes since you are calculating their PnL for them.
2) They tell you that you can make it to the front office constantly, but very few people are able to do it (and those that do take MANY years to do) so turnover is extremely large. The hours are not fantastic either.
In all, I would absolutely not recommend the product control role whatsoever unless you really enjoy repetitive work with 0 upside.
