No problem getting hardware or resources with a sensible business justification. Who doesn't want to work in a really nice building with great amenities, showers, and workout equipment? This company makes and designs playgrounds! That's something I really am proud about. My kids think I'm a superhero. Very strong sense of accomplishment and achievement when a project comes together and a community thinks of our company in a positive light.

This is a Danish company with headquarters in Denmark. It's a subsidiary that comes with reasonable challenges in communicating with HQ. It's the same for any international company. There are some things that are normal in American culture that are not normal in Danish culture (and vice versa). Again, this is universal when two cultures come together to grow a business. It can be really rewarding to have a problem, work through it, and realize the person on the other side has the same feelings and wants the same outcome. It sometimes takes time to figure that out. Compensation is below industry standards. This needs to be addressed because we've lost some people over it. Retention is important in a business that relies so heavily on a knowledge based value add. It takes a long time to get someone trained and up to speed. It's painful to see them leave for a reason that is relatively easy to fix. It's more expensive to keep recruiting, hiring, training...
