It creates a toxic environment where fear overrides fairness. While the company claims to have a “speak up” culture, in reality, people stay silent out of fear of retaliation or career damage. Teams talk openly among themselves when leadership isn’t around, but no one feels safe addressing issues through formal channels. The Speak Up system is fundamentally broken: if you report unfair treatment, the issue is quietly redirected to the person you reported. A simple denial from them is usually enough, not only to dismiss the concern, but to paint the person who raised it as the problem.
