My experience is as applicant only.

I completed a take-home project for KronosAI that ended up taking about multiple weeks. During that time, I checked in with the team and confirmed that taking additional time was acceptable, and was encouraged to continue. After submitting the project, I was informed that the company had pivoted and was no longer hiring for the role. While I understand that priorities can change, this process led to a significant time investment that could have been avoided with earlier communication. If hiring needs were uncertain, it would have been more respectful to pause or limit the scope of the project. I would recommend that candidates clarify expected time commitments upfront, and that the company set clearer boundaries or provide updates if hiring plans change.
