Pay did not keep pace with other retail stores; new seasonal employees brought in at higher hourly salary than year-round employees with no readjustment of longer term employee pay; salary bands not transparent, reviews and raises inconsistent from year to year; employees working outside Maine had many fewer benefits; small employee breakroom also used to store employees' personal items - no place to hang jackets except on opened tiny locker doors - and also used for training new staff, leaving current employees without a place to eat or rest on breaks. Every year a new store management structure was rolled out, leaving employees without clearly understood lines of reporting. Store management changed suddenly every few years, rumor mill very busy
