Most key management roles are staffed by expats from LG HQ. They lack basic understanding of UK business culture and social practice. SLTs (Senior Leadership Team), comprised mostly of Korean expats, tend to treat their local staff with a varying degree of contempt and distrust. It is sometimes so blatant, and they often make sure to communicate this message via ‘all staff’ emails. To make up their lack of basic communication skills, SLTs openly complain to their local compatriots on how lazy and inefficient their British colleagues are (=totally unacceptable behaviour). LG's internal business systems are at least 5 to 10 years behind by industry standard. Your vague expectation of working for cutting edge global consumer electronics company will be completely wiped out by lunchtime on your first day. Not surprisingly, there is an extremely high staff turnover rate. Long-time employees tend to be the ones who are content with excellent private health insurance and generous pension arrangements. (However, their staff discount on LG products is not so generous.)
