Vantaggi

Pay and benefits are decent. Hours are not outrageous, most weeks are just under 45 hours. Decent starter job, but most people with 3-5 years experience will leave for better opportunities.

Svantaggi

No sick time and the PTO isn't great. Lack of diversity in leadership, holidays (no MLK day or Juneteenth off), or thinking (there is a "LandDesign" way of doing things, going outside that or questioning the established way of doing work is frowned upon). Getting pigeon-holed into one type of project or task is very common in my experience. Talk of "long hallways" but no actual cohesion between offices. A lot of playing into the games, fighting for popularity in order to get good projects and move up in the firm. Depending on the office/studio, projects can be pretty lackluster.

Vantaggi

Great talent, leadership and potential to grow in the DFW market.

Svantaggi

With the potential for growth in the DFW market, and so many areas to grow, staying focused on or two markets is tough.

Vantaggi

One of the few “perks” is a nitro cold brew kegerator, which feels less like a benefit and more like a way to keep employees awake during the long hours often required to meet unrealistic deadlines. Rather than relying on surface-level amenities, the firm would be better served by writing adequate project budgets and fairly compensating employees for their time and contributions.

Svantaggi

Late hours are often expected without additional compensation or regard for work-life balance. Micromanagement is common, and in many cases, there is a lack of middle management to support staff or distribute workload effectively. Despite the firm’s portfolio, the work itself often lacks meaning for individual contributors, who are frequently pigeonholed into repetitive tasks with little opportunity to grow or diversify their skills. Advancement is rarely based on merit; even when employees perform well beyond their title, promotions are unlikely without direct favoritism from a partner. Creative input from designers is minimal, as senior leadership maintains rigid control over the design process, effectively reducing most designers to CAD production roles.
