-Unrealistic annual performance reviews. They have a scale of 1-5, 1 meaning that you should be fired, 5 is impossible to reach because the expectations are set so high that you can’t reach them. They do this on purpose so that they don’t have to pay you what you’re worth. I’ve had two so far and can’t manage to get a 4 and I go far beyond my job description yet I don’t get compensated fairly for it. And you can’t negotiate your merit increase because they submit the final numbers BEFORE telling you your pay raise so that they can’t go back in and change anything.
-they encourage you to apply internally and when you do, you get turned down several times. If you’re not someone with an ethnic or foreign background or bilingual, your odds of being promoted are significantly less. This is highly discouraging for an employee who has tenure and has the exact same qualifications as the bilingual person that got promoted after being there only a year. It’s very degrading and unfair.
-Work culture is not great. There are cliques and if you’re not buddy buddy with one of the sups, you also won’t get promoted or recognized.
-It has turned very ghetto. Whoever is in charge of hiring really does not care who walks in that door because they don’t drug test so a lot of the new hires smell like weed.
-Lack of organization. They are always changing the protocols for processes and a lot of the times you don’t hear about it until a coworker tells you about it and by then it’s too late because you may get counted against your audit or quality scores.
I could go on….
