At a team level there are positives, the people at mid level management and below are good to work with and actually communicate generally
Svantaggi
The senior management team and executive are out of touch with the university as a whole. They have allowed a divide to develop between the two groups and are tone deaf to what is going on during periods of people leaving and increased pressures on those that remain. They issue tone deaf proclamations which don’t acknowledge any of the issues that staff are facing.
Support staff progression isn’t a thing at the university. There are defined progression routes for academic staff but support staff have no option and are instead left in their roles with no way to advance unless into dead man’s shoes when someone else leaves or gets promoted. This coupled with the woeful salary structure which caps out quickly and leaves people with no pay progression options means that people look elsewhere for roles that will pay an actual market rate for professionals that have worked hard to achieve qualifications etc
