Newer docs get hired with an hourly rate instead of salary, which means that days that you get off early decrease your paycheck. Late hours (last appointment at about 6:00), not great for making evening plans. Strongly encouraged to upsell to patients during the exam (blue-light lenses, multiple pairs) despite there being no direct bonus for doing so (again, metrics). Strange metrics and goals that doctors have little to no control over such as number of exams per day. You will be continuously hounded by corporate to make sure the store is reaching its number goals. Sometimes that means working 6-7 days/week to reach goals set by corporate.
