Some departments are very cliquish resulting in preferential treatment. Senior management lose sight of the humanity behind the insurance product and focus too much on profits

They go through layoff regularly. Lay offs are massive, whole organizations at a time. They have multiple waves a year. I’m not sure how anything gets accomplished from so much firing and hiring and moving. Whoever’s left takes the burden and realizes they’re next. It’s bad for motivation and productivity.
