- Some independence and downtime throughout the day (esp. on PM shift) - Not a lot of high maintenance guests, tons of regulars - huge plus - Resume Builder (Top rated hotel, can gain experience in mult. roles quickly) - Coworkers are great at FD, in Hskp, Eng, and Back Office too - Can earn some PTO after working there a year - Can sign up for pre-tax Transit benefits (for parking or Metrocard) - Helps if you're already familiar with VisualOne - They'll pay for your FLSD classes & exams (*but see Cons note too*)

Svantaggi

- Variable schedule - nearly impossible to get a set schedule - Pay is too average for such a highly ranked hotel (only $18-$21/hr) - Promotion opportunities are rare, and not worth it anyway (only $1-2/hr extra) - FLSD not worth it - only $1/hr extra, no pay for time spent in classes/exams - "Manager on Duty" is a joke - doesn't give you a title or extra pay - Minimal Healthcare benefits (costly too - about 30% of your paycheck) - No retirement benefits (No matching, No 401k) - No fringe benefits (like free stays at sister properties etc.) - You may be expected to do some maintenance tasks on PM/OVNT shifts - No OSHA training - so working on the roof/boiler room/elevator is very unsafe!! - No Security Guard training, but they expect you to kick non-guests from the lobby - No real job training program, mostly just shadow someone, then trial & error - Non-Union job (so no industry contract - you're just an at-will employee) - Overall, management will give you the bare minimum needed to retain you
