Vantaggi
The people I work with and I can get a little flexibility with my hours when needed. Pay is good. The work at its core is not particularly difficult.
Svantaggi
All staff are expected to be on till, leaving no one on the shop floor when it is busy. This in my opinion puts staff and customers at a huge risk if something was to happen (and it does trust me). There is never any structure to the rotas so unless you can get agreed hours your body clock is all over the place. Absolutely no social life, high turnover of staff most never stick out the job. Standard shift is from 5am till 3pm so you lose focus from 10am as your just to tired from having to rush delivery. Or on the other end 11:30 till 22:00 which isn't as bad but on the close you are more likely to be under pressure to make everything spot on even if you've had members of staff go sick or its much busier there is no leniency. The company is setting ridiculous productivity targets so you are always operating on minimum staff no matter what. Expect everyone to be on till but still somehow provide excellent customer service by having no one not even a manager on the shop floor, and provide 100% availability. You get frowned upon if you want to take your full hour break... But Then again their isn't enough staff to ever cover fir this especially on a Sunday when everyone is on a 10 hour shift. I've worked in a number of stores and can honestly say not met a member of management who is happy with the company or with their job it's all just about the pay for them. I have been with the company for 4 years now some areas have improved greatly like clocking in and out system. But over past 2 years I have hated the job so much. Only the pay has kept me but I'm am pro actively looking for new employment and willing to take a cut to pay for my happiness and sanity.
