Vantaggi

New management is improving metrics and driving change that is increasing income. Great benefits as a result of being a part of the Cambia organization, owner of Regence Blue Cross, Blue Shield. Annual incentive program has paid to some extent even when company has not been profitable. Mistakes viewed as learning opportunities even if they may have been grounds for dismissal at other companies. Employees are encouraged raise issues. Training is starting to be created and applied. Attempts are being made to recover from a golf resort culture driven by previous management.

Svantaggi

Small company with not much fat means some work much longer hours than others. Mid-management would be served by learning time management. It is hard to get responses from some of them which means more work for whomever must follow up. Silos prevent solving problems, even as the company tries to change that. At only about 100 employees this company cannot afford such silos.

Vantaggi

They have excellent benefits which start immediately, and the pay is higher than industry standard. The insurance is through Regence BCBS of Oregon, a sister company under the Cambia umbrella.

Svantaggi

Management likes to use lots of business catch phrases to seem like they are making changes, but they are a big company who never really left the feel of a small company. The departments don't work together, there are no time frames given to staff or clients, the training is all powerpoints made by a someone who has never worked in this business before, they have software they have paid millions of dollars for that still doesn't work after a year and the CEO also manages a health app called HubBub, even though LifeMap needs better management direction. They are slowly but surely outsourcing every aspect of the business, from dental and disability claims, premium billing, to Customer Service. Soon the only thing that will be left are sales and account management, and all of the upper level management of course. Someone has to be in conference calls all day!
