Vantaggi
It is hard to think of any pros for the company, that is why you see most people writing those pros that has nothing to do with the company's benefits at all. Examples of such pros (which pretty much most companies have it): ⁃ Have aircon ⁃ Office is near to MRT station (convenient) ⁃ work from home flexibility (most companies’ arrangement currently due to COVID19)
Svantaggi
Too many on the list that I am worried about the upper limit of words, would have given zero stars to the company if possible. ⁃ Management level is too China centric and is trying to force China’s way of management to Singapore’s environment which just doesn’t make any sense ⁃ Always emphasizes on freedom and opportunity for employees to learn and grow but it is all empty promises, ultimately it will always be the upper management that has the say in everything (without considerations of anything you say AT ALL) ⁃ There is a lack of communication throughout the entire company - upper management makes all the decisions without seeking opinions from the subordinates that have more experience in dealing with the issues ⁃ Employees have to deal with all the sudden major changes without any prior notice or warning beforehand, and this is a norm in the company where upper management implements the changes, and the subordinates only know about the change few days later (through grapevine and not even through proper formal notice) ⁃ Company’s lack of proper structure and SOPs is one of the critical issues that resulted in the chaos in the company. The CEO’s focus on growth instead of structure have taken its toll on the company, where SOPs are unable to keep up with the changes and ultimately, SOPs are left redundant as well since changes take place every other day. With the lack of proper structure, everyone just has their own point of view and say in every issue which results in a conflict of interest as there is no ‘right way of doing’ in the company. ⁃ Lack of proper training for newcomers as they are just left to survive on their own without proper guidance or even proper procedures for them to read and understand on their own. When they have questions in doubt, they can only figure it out on their own as most of their fellow colleagues have their daily roles engraved in their mind and more often than not had to play mind game while doing their work, but it is not written out in paper. This makes it hard for newcomers to be integrated fully into the company. ⁃ There is a super high turnover rate of the company where every week you can hear people resigning, where more than 50-60% of them can’t even last more than a month in the company. This resulted in current employees not willing to interact very deeply with new employees, as it is very tolling on them to teach and nurture a new colleague every month - they would rather do everything on their own since it is already part and parcel of their job scope. This is also the reason why most reviews here are less than 1 year as people don’t stay long in the company. ⁃ Politics and mind game is super strong in the company’s culture, where every department/upper management only have their minds on how to outplay each other in order to climb the corporate ladder. The lack of team spirit is evident in the company, and you have to do your work like walking on eggshells as you would never know when you will get backstabbed by your own teammates or other departments. ⁃ Lack of (No) work life balance - people disregard whether you are on leave, off days or on MC, they will just look for you any time, any day (literally). People who stayed up working past midnight will just call you if they need you past midnight too. - Not appreciative of the work that employees do - it is absolute nonsense that you get rewarded for what you do, people can slog their life out but credits get taken by others easily and management plays a game of preferential treatment also
