Few projects/teams do really interesting work. Top level management has some of the best brains. There is always someone trying to innovate, incorporate new technologies, and get new projects. You just have to look for such innovations and you will find them.

Too much of politics and power abuse in mid level management. Some teams have managers that treat you very bad unless you succumb to boot licking. HR does not treat you as humans; they just do whatever is convenient for the company. No concept of work-life balance in few teams like CRM. Run for your life if you are into those because it will always be a never-ending cycle.
