I worked here for 3 months. I really liked what the company stands for. Working in a company with good values is a great place to be. The people on other teams other than mine (in Support) were really helpful and genuine. LiveAuctioneers has a great Product and Engineering team that would be awesome to be a part of.

The company culture was not upheld throughout the company. This was apparent to me by the Head of Support, who used tactics such as gaslighting and micromanaging to create a toxic work environment on the Support team. This toxicity led to the team being cliquey and gossipy. The Support Team was managed primarily by fear, not trust, even though the company's #1 value is Start with Trust. During my training experience there was poor communication from my manager. My job was threatened even though my performance was ahead of what I was being asked to accomplish. When I tried to give feedback about a better onboarding experience, my feedback was not received well and was told "this is the way we have always done things; my onboarding experience was worse back in the day." After continuous failed follow-through and him having openly questioned my ability to perform my job as early as day 2 despite having had strong interviews, I was left feeling distrustful of my manager's word. I was further penalized for agreed-upon time off (including a sick day from getting the vaccine) and was told I was "behind the curve" even though I was successfully accomplishing everything. Further gaslighting methods were on vague/unconstructive feedback on my work performance, making me question my abilities despite having strong personal KPIs. I would like to note that all of these frustrations and issues were brought to HR in the very early stages, and these concerns were not properly addressed or handled. I had a 1:1 with my manager and received positive feedback on my performance. I had also shared that I was exploring other job opportunities within the company for future development and growth. A few days following this meeting, my manager and HR terminated my employment without any indication or notice. When I asked for a reason for my termination they refused and were unable to provide me with one.
