I joined LivePerson late last year, even though things looked to be in decline. I reached out to a few people at the company who I knew from other places who told me that they'd just ousted their former CEO who was driving things into the ground and the new management team looked a lot more promising. Since I joined, there has been countless redundancies, including teams that no longer exist whose roles have just fallen into the laps of other people unfamiliar with their skillset. The company has been struggling to attract new customers and is doing a poor job at retaining existing customers due to the lack of support (everyone's been made redundant) but also the high price points that can't really compete with some of the petter platforms in the space. To make matters worse, I applied for an internal role in March where I was told multiple times I was a really promising candidate, though it would need approval for a sponsorship inside APAC. I was contacted by multiple colleagues inside the People team, including management, and told I'd be given an update at the start of April. I still haven't heard anything back, despite multiple emails and Slack messages to management and recruiters. I'm told through the grapevine from people not involved in the recruitment process that they've decided it's not worth the funding necessary for my sponsorship, yet the team who is responsible for managing colleagues within the company can't communicate this? Speaks volumes for accountability at the top.
