Working at LivePerson was one of the most frustrating and dysfunctional experiences of my career. Leadership operates like an exclusive gentlemen’s club—favouring a select few, indulging in boozy gatherings, and showing little regard for the business or its customers. There is no proper training, onboarding, or development. Processes are non-existent, and you're left to figure things out on your own. The outdated technology remains unchanged, and instead of receiving guidance, you're told to search Slack for answers—whether they’re correct or even relevant is anyone’s guess. Bullying is rife and ignored. Managers frequently cancelled one-on-ones last minute without explanation, avoided meetings altogether, and dodged tough questions in group forums. On one occasion, my manager even brought a beer to our one-on-one, creating an unprofessional and isolating environment. While remote work is a perk, it comes at a cost—you're expected to be available at all hours, and the pay is far below what it should be for the stress and workload involved. Employees pretend everything is fine, but it's clear they are stretched, exhausted, and burned out. Customers are an afterthought, and instead of solving real issues, leadership recycles the same vague strategy in slightly different wording. Nothing makes sense, and decisions seem completely random. The recent mass layoffs, which cut a significant portion of the workforce, were yet another sign of poor management—no transparency, no accountability, just a desperate attempt to stay afloat. If you value integrity, strong leadership, and a company with a clear direction, look elsewhere.
