Starting with the good: WFH/Flex Hybrid schedule was amazing for work life balance, plenty of very smart people working around you. Salary was ok but on lower end for role considering the local market. Bonus structure flat, weak and does not encourage people to actually go above and beyond anymore. Benefits mediocre, healthcare especially atrocious. Some people get to do cool projects, others get siloed into unbearable life draining programs. Got stuck in an IRAD that became toxic and extremely dysfunctional with low morale and extremely high turn over rates. Don’t hang around too long in these programs if you value your mental health and your technical chops!

Dysfunctional catastrophe from leadership. Poor communication on a program wide level. Too much paper pushing, politics and endless meetings with little actual engineering at the end of the day. Morally reprehensible high deductible health care plan. Low morale and high turn over rate.
