Vantaggi

- Decent equipment to use for daily work. - Decent software for managing and connecting to endpoints. - Decent training and communication technologies for employees. - Decent benefits

Svantaggi

- You will be putting out fires daily, many times caused by routine patching or network changes implemented by other departments with little to no prior communication of the implementations. - Communication with other departments is very disjointed, and almost partitioned out completely. - There is a weekend on-call rotation Friday evenings to Monday mornings, depending on how many employees have been hired will determine the frequency of rotation for you. When you're on-call, you're required to take any calls and watch alerts. Even if someone has an Excel problem at 4:30 AM, you become the one to fix it. You lose entire weekends because of this as it's too risky to be out and about, you become homebound. I think the solution to this would be to give the employees on this rotation the Monday (day of rotation end) off of work. - You can get a call every couple minutes most days, it seems like you're almost never off of the phone, as soon as you can catch your bearings, another one will come in. High burn-out feeling. - Locknet assigns clients to different teams. Red, Blue, Orange, Green, etc. While teamwork is promoted, metrics are highly evaluated and seem to be the primary way in which you're examined or pitted against another team. - Each team's Lead will give you your metrics weekly, but there is no transparency in how the metrics are calculated since as an employee you can't examine another team's metrics. If Locknet desires more out of a team they feel is under-performing, they will tout another team's metrics to provide evidence of the under-performance of another team's metrics, whether directly or indirectly. It's hard to know how truthful it is. - The desire to want to improve and optimize a client's IT environments is not really possible, and so many different hands are in them, and you're not given any time to do so. This kind of work would be for the Engineers, but even they have too much on their plate. The result is problems persist; clients feel neglected, the teams get poor reviews, and the burnout increases per member, leaving no enjoyment at the end of the day or satisfaction in your work. For any clients, such as banks and others that wish to go with Locknet, understand that things will be falling through the cracks due to the load and nature of Managed IT at the level Locknet is doing it with their resources. You will not get the TLC of an experienced and well-rounded internal IT employee that you could hire on-site to iron-out all your issues. It's just not going to happen. You will save money going with Locknet, but if you get breeched, those savings turn into losses. Think carefully.
