9moThanks for taking the time to post this.
I have to say, we have certainly been guilty of a very similar environment that you are describing, however that was over half a decade ago (pre covid). Not sure how long ago you worked here but we take feedback seriously. Over the years we have taken all the feedback that we have received from our employees and made significant improvements to all the things you are mentioning.
So as much as I would agree with you that we have in the past been inadequate on some of the items you have called out, I would 100% disagree that we are having those challenges today.
Perfect, no, we are very far from perfect, however our average employee tenure has increased significantly, as our teammates are staying here longer and I can only attribute that to us having created an environment where people are excited about what they are doing and where we are headed.
I have always been taught that feedback is a gift (a free gift) however I have also been taught that feedback needs to be specific. Like when you tell someone, they "did a good job" - that is not feedback. Saying "you did a great job because you were able to take your opening remarks and create a throughline with your message through every slide you presented and then tied it all back together during your conclusion". <- this is "feedback".
Can you be more specific with your comments about "vague answers to questions during your onboarding" and "convoluted leadership"?
Regarding Onboarding: We take everyone's onboarding very seriously. There is a significant effort to ensure we are making everyone's onboarding experience a positive one. Again are we perfect with this, definitely not however we are always trying to improve. I would welcome a conversation where you can explain more specifically what you mean with this comment? Or where we were "vague" in our responses to your questions.
Regarding Leadership: I would love to learn more specifically what you experienced here? This is a fairly broad comment that lacks clarity or specifics. Managing a company or a team is not an easy task to say the least when you are working in an industry that literally changes every year, sometimes multiple times a year. I can only presume this is what you mean? Innovation and change are an absolute and non-negotiable essential for an agency to be successful. We pivot every year to ensure our product is current and we are offering the best possible solutions to the customers we serve(this year is certainly no different). Oftentimes, when we pivot with the market or industry's evolution, it can be disruptive as change is hard on people. We do our best to offer as much guidance and clarity as we can and those teammates who embrace change and charge forward, attempting to achieve the best possible outcome, are the ones who thrive here at Logical
Regarding work life balance, I know this all too well. We are an agency and agency life is hard. Again I do feel like you potentially worked here a long time ago but we have made strides to ensure our team's have good balance. Outside of the list below, the most important change we have made is to ask our clients to not contact our employees after work hours or over the weekend. I send out an email every year reminding our clients that it is imperative that our teammates recharge their batteries when they are not at work. Again this is not perfect however it has been pervasive across our client roster. I no longer send emails at night or during the weekends too (I may still write them but I schedule them to send the next morning).
Here's a list of other items we have included to ensure our teams find the time to rest:
Generous paid holiday schedule
Summer Fridays
Mental Health Days
personal days
PTO
various leaves
closed between xmas and ny
We have also successfully had an Account Management team in place since 2019. This team is responsible for managing client communication and ensuring the delvery teams are as innaccessible as we can make them, to our clients. This is not perfect but we have invested heavily here to help manage load.
I am always sorry to hear when any of our teammates don't have a good experience here. Again agency life is not for everyone and Logical for sure, is not for everyone.
I am more than willing to meet with you to discuss your experience. Again I am quite curious about when you worked here as I would like to compare that time to today.
If not, I understand and I wish you only the best in your life and professional career
