They pay pennys, they hire a lot of people from Latin America and Europe because they are not willing to pay a decent salary for a devops engineer, they will try to sell you their benefits instead of giving you a proper salary, they get mad if you ask for a raise, I got a friend who got fired and never got compensated for his time. They have an org mess, you need to tell them every month how much they have to pay you with and excel spreadsheet to HR, even though they are supposed to know that, or at least hire someone to do that work.

Hello and thanks for your message. Although we see some of these points differently, your feedback still helps Loka grow and improve. Please allow me to address some of your points directly. We look at employee happiness holistically, as reflected by Loka’s robust compensation packages, which are among the best in the industry. They include a highly competitive salary, plus the 5/4 Fridays you mention, as well as meaningful projects, mental wellness, fitness and upscale allowances and more. The result of our efforts is a 98% retention rate for the last year, which we believe demonstrates the overall employee satisfaction at Loka. Nobody is forced to work here. But many people do and many more want to. We've never terminated an employee without pay for any reason other than a serious and deliberate breach of ethics and Loka policy. Nor do managers get mad when someone asks for a raise. These are important aspects of the professional world and our HX team takes them seriously. If the rare discrepancy in compensation does occur, HX is always available to help solve any issues. Regarding the spreadsheets you mention: This is a common practice for working with contractors known as invoicing. It’s a simple and efficient system for contract work, which can vary from month to month, and has been in place across multiple industries for many, many years. Yours is the first complaint we’ve received about it. Again, we do take feedback to heart. If you have any other feedback now or in the future, please do share it with your manager via Slack, DM or email--they're always available. If I may address some of your points: For the sake of clarity in promotions, we introduced the Loka Career Progression Framework, which provides detailed information on competencies, expectations, levels and channels for navigating the promotion process. We do hold high standards when it comes to promotions, but the CPF gives our teammates a clear path, and it's up to them to put in the effort to advance their career. We make sure to keep our compensation aligned with industry standards to ensure that we are paying competitively and fairly across roles and locations. Additionally we offer unique benefits like every other Friday off, upskilling allowances and mental and physical health memberships. Our robust compensation packages are one reason why Loka averaged a 98% retention rate over the last year. And we invest heavily in training and mentoring our teams. Employees receive a yearly allowance to spend on classes, certifications and industry conferences. We host regular internal knowledge-sharing sessions; LokaSpeaks, a free weekly program for improving presentation and public speaking skills; and Global Demo Beer corners, where Lokals share technical solutions to project problems. All are great opportunities to learn from others. Anecdotally, we hear often from newer employees that if they encounter problems there's always a colleague or manager they can reach out to for help. That said, we're always looking to improve. Can you describe the kind of mentorship you were looking for that you feel like you didn't receive?
