The freebies, environment, my coworkers, the education...really what wasn't to love? When I started I had zero sales experience and quickly went from part time associate to full time assistant manager then store manager. I'm talking in less than three months. For all of you say there is no room for advancement, check around you or work harder. I busted my butt and got there because I was good. My experience was exceedingly personal and occurred between 4 locations. While I have no doubt this type of thing can occur elsewhere, I would not discurage others from this establishment.

Svantaggi

The bad...my quick advancement lead to jealousy as I passed over a couple others who had been there longer than I. The difference was I worked hard, came in for shipments, did mos, cleaned, streamlined, most importantly I was never late. This green eyed monster led to lies about me and those got to Corp. I was called in, cornered, and asked to confess to something that was false. I walked and the lazy person got my store. Last I looked, that stores numbers are suffering. Too bad.

Vantaggi

Fantastic coworkers! I had so much fun getting to know my team. This is a unique retail job where you can make very earnest connections with both coworkers and customers alike.

Svantaggi

Horrible job, horrible management, horrible company. You barely make commission (every month certain brands are selected to provide the associate for $0.25-$3, rarely $5-$10 per unit sold) and the focus on individual sales numbers is entirely disproportionate to the incentive. Was frequently sexually harassed by customers as a man, women who work for the company get it several times worse. Management does not take this seriously when approached - several times I pleaded with my store manager to either retrain staff on safety protocols or develop a different system entirely, as I was heartbroken hearing the women I worked with telling me stories of repeated harassment that they didn't know how to handle. Every time I was told my feedback was valuable and something would be done. Nothing was ever done. Scheduling is inconsistent and associates are frequently scheduled outside of their availability, and recently the company came up with a policy that associates are NOT ALLOWED to know their schedules more than a week in advance. Consistent requests for set scheduling were rejected repeatedly and associates were shamed in the event they didn't have open availability. Associates were required to be pushy to the point where many customers expressed discomfort, and this is ignored repeatedly by management. Associates' sales stats are displayed in the back office to one another, often creating tension in the workplace where there needn't be. Associates are required to push the sales of "enhancement pills" which are untested and unregulated, and could lead to serious health complications for the customers being sold the pills. Management cherry-picks their sales to spoof higher numbers while simultaneously chiding their associates for not having as good sales numbers. Finally, a review was posted at my location describing one of my female coworkers as "having curves in all the right places" and further objectifying her body as well as using her first name in the review, which is sexual harrassment and a violation of privacy. Instead of immediately removing the review, Lovers responded with lightly chiding the reviewer but thanking them for their feedback and encouraging their return. This made my coworker feel incredibly unsafe and I am disgusted that a company that preaches the value of consent would encourage that kind of harassment. Lovers is a terrible company that is anti-employee, and hypocritical in its promotion of bodily health, consent, and inclusion. You are better off unemployed.
