Vantaggi
Our new CFO has helped bring some accountability back into the business. The company had to make some tough decisions recently to manage operating costs but that's not uncommon at the moment. Unfortunately, our past hasn't helped in the recent round of layoffs. I completely understand how some employees might see this as a repeat of the past. I see a bright future for Lumeris if we can figure out who we are. There is some real momentum at the moment. The HR team gets a lot of flack for being the bearer of bad news but I've seen some significant improvements in how they have supported us recently. I think much of this is in part to the new department head. Benefits are really good and they've started to incorporate VBC components so it feels like we are practicing what we preach. We've ended the ridiculous quarterly review process and moved on to a more traditional performance / feedback cycle. Fair pay, consistent annual increases based on performance, most of us have some bonus plan now. Communications are improving but there is still work to do to improve transparency. Engaging all company meetings. Culture is still shifting since almost everyone is remote but I have a great relationship with my colleagues and feel supported by management. Culture is collaborative and employees are entrusted to do their best vs. being micro-managed.
Svantaggi
The business needs to figure out who we are and stick with an approach. There is little diversity in senior leadership. Our CEO feels out of touch and I suspect many of the misteps we've encountered are because of poor leadership at the top. I'm surprised that the board has tolerated it for so long. We've lost a lot of good employees lately.
