Very slow career growth for new engineers due to a lack of work. Their promotion ladder still seems to be based on 20th century standards. New talent wants faster career growth opportunities and doesn't want to wait 15 years to become a Senior Engineer. An Engineer 1 should be able to become a senior Engineer or project manager within 5-6 years of starting which doesn't seem possible at this company due to a lack of project work. They were not able to reap the full benefits of the investment on training as alot of senior engineers and sales people left. This led to a loss of work and the company had to lay off quite a few number of engineers nation wide in 2016. This was in addition to the people that had already left the company. The wave of hiring and realignment was not a sound business decision that was based on research or grounded in reality.
