Lack of organization/communication - Recensione dipendente - EMT-Basic presso MB Solutions

Right from the job interview there were red flags that I overlooked. Their online application only took my name, contact info, and position I was applying for. When I came into the office for my interview, the first thing they did was sit me down at a table with a pen and a paper application where I had to list a lot of information that I couldn't possibly remember off the top of my head. Overall they were terrible about communication. One day they didn't tell me that they pushed back my shift start time (violating their own scheduling policy) from 0600 to 0830 so I showed up at the office at 0545 and was told I had nobody to run with until 0830. I worked there for about 3 months and was never trained as AIC and was never given a timeframe on when I would be trained. They had one person in charge of training new EMT's to be AIC, and she kept telling me "oh we will do it next week" or something to that extent, and that went on for 3 months. Despite having very limited training with their EMR software, on my first day one of their experienced EMT's I was training under had me ride in the back by myself with 2 patients which I was not trained for. They would regularly schedule me on days I had told them I was not available for. Their managers would track all of the ambulances by GPS and call the crew if we didn't move for 10 minutes at a time. One day my partner and I went for 8 hours without anything to eat, and the supervisor called to yell at us for taking 5 minutes to stop for some food. She said we were going to be late for our pickup, despite having 30 minutes to get to a location that was 10 minutes away. There is no way to gain any career advancement at this company, unless you are looking to be a trainer or in management. At their office they wouldn't allow employees (other than management/supervisors) to park in the office parking lot and instead would make us park on the street where there are designated no parking signs, they told us they have some sort of under the table agreement with the police to not ticket the cars parked there. All of the transports are BLS only (mostly dialysis transports) so there is really no need for anyone with a certification higher than EMT-B. Sure you could work your way through school but I don't see much point in staying with the company unless you want to be an EMT you're whole life.
