Vantaggi
They offer a generous bonus structure
Svantaggi
The only healthcare plan they offer is very expensive and is a $5000 deductible. The owner of the company has no business in being the CEO. Since she took over, she has fired at least 3 executives. It is very much a good old boy culture so if you are a female or a minority then you are at a disadvantage. This is ironic since they love to flaunt the face that they are a woman owned company. I witnessed so many blatant examples while I was there of where white males were give preferential treatment. There are individuals there who have been with the company for years. They kiss up to upper management and get away with everything. Within the last few years, profits for this company has been stagnant and/or gone downhill. They have realized that focusing on just mid-market business isn’t going to cut it. There was a big push for the client managers to start chasing after big companies and VMS business. The only problem is nobody knows how to do this and management can’t train them. The branch director in our office was very hands-off and did little to help recruiters or client managers. Anytime they tried to implement a change, it took an act of God. This is odd since MDI Group is a relatively small company. For example, they tried to make recruiters check references on every candidate before every submittal. (This should have been done from the beginning anyway.) This “change” caused a lot of uproar and then things went back to the old way within a few weeks. There were many times during my tenure when they talked about making changes. It was always just talk to appease the employees and then things would go back to exactly how they used to be. They are in the mindset that it is still 2004 and whatever they did back then should still work out in 2018. Don’t even bother to bring any issues to HR or Management because nothing will be done about it and you will be shunned.
