Vantaggi
With very few exceptions, the employees, both in Seattle and overseas, were some of the most wonderful, amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting or working with. I loved what I did, even when I had too much to do. I even had a few opportunities to travel and create some unforgettable memories.
Svantaggi
The owners. Mostly, the majority owner. There was a complete lack of respect, honesty, and most of all, ethics. I suppose it is best summarized by a few specific experiences: The most disrespectful experiences were the two times that he came into my office while I was filing, and announced rather loudly to several of my male coworkers, "Hey, look guys! She's on her knees!" One of the most dishonest things he ever said to me was, well, the final of three statements, over the course of a few years. The first two statements were the same, each said to me, by him, at my most recent "annual" reviews, while negotiating my salary raise. They were both assurances that the trips that I "did" and *was to* receive annually were considered to be a part of my salary, and so that must be taken into account. I had, and later did not, receive these trips on an annual basis. His response to my pointing this out to him was, "I'm sorry if you were told that, but it's just not true." To top it off, a few months later, I'm told he went office to office to assure the other employees that I had definitely not quit because of him. As far as ethics... that involves things that ethically, I shouldn't be sharing. I do have ethics, so I won't be sharing them.
