Constantly changing projects and positions allows you to sometimes do work that you love. People are generally very nice. Your monetary value is outstandingly transparent. Certainly taken care of in terms of benefits and company events. Young engineers are hired in waves, which allows friendships to easily form. Projects are typically very well estimated in terms of effort, and higher-ups are good at renegotiating contracts under pressure. High amount of responsibility delegated to new engineers.

My biggest negative is the response to the anti-racism movement of 2020. After an anti-racism group formed within the company, the POs (Highest level executive officers) felt comfortable sending an email to the entire company saying that even though they haven't spoken out against racism internally or externally since the resurgence of the BLM movement, they do care. They also say in this email and follow-up emails that the creation of the anti-racism group is "not acceptable at MPR" and that it should never use internal company emails/surveys in an effort to save face (they word it as protecting the livelihood of MPR employees and their families). This is likely because a large part of the client base are energy companies that support nuclear and fossil fuels, as well as the armed forces (meaning that those companies are likely right-leaning). The company justified this by claiming that they are not in the business of "social engineering". Unfortunately, by sending a company wide email discouraging any discussion of equity, they have participated in "social engineering". They then had an additional email sent out to let those who elected to participate in the group know that if anyone abused company resources by talking about the equity group in an email that it could potentially result in termination of their employment. Apart from that... Roughly 25% of the people can be difficult to work with. Nice people, but difficult to work with. This mainly takes the form of bad record keeping and flow of information on behalf of managing engineers when coordinating several highly technical projects. Lower level engineers will find themselves having to justify their work at times. Knowing monetary value attaches anxiety for some when filling their time.
