I could work from home.

Interesting comment, obviously we did something wrong here. The tenure of the UK/EMEA team is the highest in the company, and incredibly stable. Very few people resign, I the feedback is terrific. But, like always, we we will take this onboard. Our people are our success, and every comment matters. Thank you.

Vantaggi

Monday and Friday WFH. Coworkers were great. Management that is not the CEO or his wife were usually good and understanding of problems encountered and offering solutions.

Svantaggi

I honestly don't know where to begin... The husband and wife duo are absolute nightmare fuel, but for some reason they probably believe what they are doing is right, I guess the high turnover indicates it. Low level of accountability from management, I specifically recalling bringing up an issue in advance, it got ignored and then I got blamed and put on a PIP. The product itself is outdated, not scalable and the code-base looked and felt so sloppy, fix 1 thing on one end and somehow it breaks something on the other end that is unrelated. You raise valid points only for it to get ignored or not properly addressed, I am doing you a favour raising these points and I'm not paid as a manager or someone that is supposed to impact processes. Worked overtime (unpaid) for an hour or so and come in late by like 10 minutes the next day, wifey feels like it is time to talk to my manager. Even if you believe it impacts what the others may do (encourage tardiness), that is not my problem. I guess being the wife of the CEO gives you the ability to have your hand involved with every team including the hours. Processes also just change on a whim, it is more what the CEO feels like at the present time. This is where having a single source of truth that is documented and stored on Confluence or something would be great? Many times I even brought up something not being financially viable and THEY HATED that I said it was a bad idea and not worthwhile, had to have a separate meeting and tell me off. Well guess what, a few weeks later they canned it anyway and I was right. Nearly forgot wifey had cameras installed watching the elevator exits on the floors and it FEELS like she just sits there watching them waiting to rat on you. She also just tends to get involved in things that is not her business and just complain (now imagine if you put that time and effort into actually improving the business or work environment!). Last but not least the reviews around November 2025 was actually from a competition that happened internally, so essentially a bribe for good reviews. I would not recommend anyone here unless they are ultra desperate. Expect to get mentally checked out very quickly.

Vantaggi

Probably the only one I could find is flexibility, up to a degree.

Svantaggi

Out of all my engineering roles, this was by far the least enjoyable. The work environment is highly toxic, driven by unrealistic expectations and poor management practices. Tasks are regularly estimated at 8 hours but realistically take several weeks to complete. Despite this, there’s constant pressure to “move faster,” and engineers are frequently blamed or yelled at for delays that stem from impossible deadlines and unclear requirements. The codebase is in terrible shape, “spaghetti code” doesn’t begin to describe it. It’s a patchwork of quick fixes and workarounds, with zero documentation and massive files (often 5,000+ lines) containing functions that handle dozens of unrelated responsibilities. Maintaining or extending this code is a nightmare. Management is extremely micromanaging, constantly asking for updates and pressuring you about delivery times. Most tickets are vaguely written, often require multiple rounds of clarification, and the scope tends to change midway through development. It’s common for new requests to be added to the same ticket without adjusting timelines, and then you’re questioned about why it’s taking longer. Long hours are the norm, including weekends, with no compensation or recognition for the extra time. If you’re a Software Engineer who values good engineering practices, clear communication, or work-life balance, this is not the right place. The development experience is frustrating on nearly every level.

Doing my monthly reviews of Glassdoor, and appreciate this feedback. As per my previous response, as the CEO I would be the first to admit that we have some amount of spaghetti code, a side affect of rapid growth, and success with the product. In fact we raise this during the interview process, we need great people to help drive change, bring ideas, and we are open and honest. I am going to say that I do have to disagree about the long hours with no compensation, working out of hours is for emergencies only, an absolute core principle of the our ethos. And when it does happen, we have so many ways to compensate people, whatever the personal preference.
