Company relies on FTE placements however there is zero understanding of contract recruiting best practices and little to no knowledge in IT staffing. No training plan for new hires - you're thrown into a desk to figure it out yourself (at least in consulting dept.). Not a good place for a first job in this particular vertical - newbies are hired and fail. In addition, there is a belief that communication over email is an acceptable way to gauge the truthfulness of potential candidates and to get business. No phone calls are required, which causes a myriad of issues - minimal screening done by mgmt for candidates - yes/no questions are asked, no answers are tested with a follow up. In addition staying until 6PM is required and no WFH. Benefits are extraordinarily expensive through the company. I was low-balled tremendously on salary compared to newer postings. The consulting group practices all that gives recruiters a bad name - no care for the candidates at all.
