Everything. Lack of creative freedom. One position but multiple roles in one. Everything needs action right away and everything’s changing (as in, we went through 6/7 project management tools in 1 year!!!) Very outdated tools - made to use Dropbox and Microsoft rather than Google for files and deliverables making it extremely difficult to collaborate one one document esp in timely turnarounds - causing several documents being downloaded and saved with initials and dates and “version 12” for the next person to review?? Madness. Even for clients to review said document - absolute chaos and messy. The CEO would wake up with an idea and ask the team to implement by midday. Truly traumatic work environment and management (the ceo). As the person directly below the CEO I saw and heard all. From my first day I watched one by one people either leave or be let go after horrific bullying and humiliation and being put down in front of other team members. The kind of trauma that stays with you and makes you want to be self-employed. Since I left at the end of last year there’s been several people in my role who have come and gone, I’ve never seen a turnover like it. No job is worth your mental health. I’ve worked for many marketing agencies and always had a fantastic experience so I hope things change for the better especially for the wonderfully talented team members who remain.

I had a great experience working at Magnify for three years. From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed and supported by everyone. Moyra is a great manager — she knows what she’s doing, gives great direction, and you’ll learn a lot about the industry working with her. I really appreciated the trust and flexibility I was given. Once you build that trust, you can fully organize your time and work the way that suits you best — which is so important in a creative role, since inspiration doesn’t always come on schedule. The projects were diverse and kept challenging my creativity, which I loved. Over time, we even adjusted my role to match my growing skills and interests while helping the brands evolve. I learned a lot during those three years and I’m truly grateful to the team and the great managers I worked with!

There are definitely busier times of the year (but the team is supportive and we always manage to get things done).
