The only downside is at times lack of transparency as it pertains to the direction of the business but that has gotten significantly better over the last few years.

As it pertains to getting work done, I had a good experience. Though I would likely need to sync up with team members that were less capable than I for reporting purposes. I am not 100% sure this was everyone’s experience but it was mine. Mostly I was left alone to complete my work.

Management and the PMs had a “helicopter” style. I would ask for support frequently however they would only involve themselves if there was a problem. If memory serves, Management was not reachable and the only incident where we communicated was when I was let go during a layoff. This was obviously poor form on their part and they apologized.
