Vantaggi
- Gain first hand experience in many different fields in very little time. Hence, it truly is a great career starter as it allows you find the work that you really like to then shift your professional and intellectual focus accordingly. - Growth potential is literally as big as the size of the US financial markets (mostly banking) if you have the endurance to make it to the partner level. - Not cut-throat at all. Great environment among colleagues and managers. Managers are generally reasonable, approachable and transparent if you ask the right questions at the right settings. It takes time but if you prove yourself, they will also truly listen with regards to professional aspirations and geographical mobility. - You get to work with extremely intelligent and well rounded colleagues and managers (with limited exceptions as in any other organization). - Travel is nice but frequency and location is dependent on the project. - Organic growth only (double edged sword).
Svantaggi
- Compensation scheme needs to be improved for those who deserve it. As other reviews pointed out, workload may change based on the project, and pay will increase on a yearly basis substantially (percentage wise) for practically all. However, there could be cases where experienced team members are working better hours while being rewarded significantly more. This is purely circumstantial on the project (understandable - not a perfect world), but the reality is that yearly increases may not be equitable. - Economic incentive to travel has diminished. I believe this may yield cost-reduction. Salaries could be increased across the board based on this. Also, entry-level salaries were also increased a few years back while not bumping up mid-level salaries accordingly. - Organic growth only (again, double edged sword). - Refer to advice to management for the final con.
