- almost zero oversight or management - several members of the senior leadership team have left in the last year, leading many of us to wonder who we ever work for / report to. - owned by Kaplan, and subject to a lot of changes dictated by Kaplan that we have no say in. - after the initial training process, there is no emphasis on growing or improving as teachers. We're left completely to our own devices. - it's a very static, repetitive job. - there is almost no opportunity for career growth within the company - no positions beyond instructor to climb toward. - the tech and curriculum are badly outdated, and there never seems to be budget for improvements, even badly needed ones. - the company doesn't crowdsource ideas or innovations. A very small number of individuals dictate all of the curriculum produced, and it's of mediocre quality at best. - support staff is chronically understaffed, probably because the pay is so low for everyone but instructors.
