-Great smart, artsy people -thorough onboarding and training process -crew of young editors are very supportive and here to help you -PTO, good health benefits, flexibility during the day with remote culture if you need to pickup your kid or go to a doctor’s appointment. This is the best part!

The main bread and butter value added reseller account is very intense. Long hours and periods of travel, work is engaging but one editor does the work of three. There is never a light workday and you can feel overworked or underpaid. There is also no modern workflow management tool so internal mechanisms are severely dated. Clients want to see fresh work and new ideas but there is no space or spare resources to do that. People who cannot handle the workload are quickly replaced. New people are surveyed very closely while older people on the account who don’t embrace change are left off the hook. Top heavy company power dynamics and lots of secrecy and transparency.

Most colleagues are nice and collaborative. Decent benefits. Competitive pay for an agency. Flexible work environment.

Post-merger layoffs spread out over several months. Homogeneous culture with minimal diversity. Laid off “for performance” after confirming upcoming PTO for a religious holiday that was only days away (and that I had requested months in advance), so take that as you will. Had to fight for unemployment benefits afterward. From a business standpoint, minimal client diversity. One major client rules the roost and causes reevaluation of staff and resources on quarterly basis. Not a sustainable business model in the current economic climate.
