Great benefits including travel perks. Marriott owners and customers are some of the most brand loyal customers in the world. The instant credibility of selling under the Marriott name is a huge benefit that is not found with many other companies in the vacation ownership (timeshare) sales industry. Most of the people you work with will be extremely supportive and Marriott prides itself on it's customer service which is helpful in creating happy and satisfied owners. Very good earning potential for top performers.

As a new sales person who has never sold a vacation ownership/timeshare product, it will be extremely difficult to hit your minimum performance #s as you will not get enough tours and don't have your own owners to reload. In fact the majority of new sales execs don't make it past a few months unless they were transfers from another Marriott Vacation Club site. No base salary for Sales Execs...just a minimum wage draw. It's really hit or miss when it comes to sales management (as is true with many large companies). Some sales managers (Project Directors, Senior Sales Managers etc) within Marriott Vacation Club are exceptional and know how to bring the best out of each individual they are managing. Other managers should never have been put in the positions they are...and unfortunately it takes forever for a bad manager or really any bad employee at Marriott to get removed from their positions. Also being a very conservative and corporate culture, it takes too long for ideas/things to get implemented or changed. Marriott is slow to react and adapt to changing times. The company is very risk adverse and afraid of getting sued that the legal department has increasingly over the years gotten to a point that it has too much power and say within the company and as a result often hampers sales and marketing efforts unnecessarily with constant new restrictions, policies and procedures. While transfers to other Marriott Vacation Club sales sites are easy to accomplish, it is extremely difficult to move into any positions within the hotel/lodging divisions of Marriott.

During my employment as a Quality Assurance employee, I experienced clear unequal treatment compared to colleagues in the same position. Westbound QA employees were not required to clock in and out for lunch, while Eastbound QA employees like myself were required to do so — despite holding identical job classifications. As an hourly employee, this meant I was regularly working unpaid time during mandatory "break" periods. This was not a minor oversight — it was a policy applied unequally between teams. When I raised this concern directly to my manager, instead of acknowledging the legitimate issue, my manager responded by threatening to file an internal HR complaint against me — claiming I had raised my voice in a customer area. I did not raise my voice. Rather than addressing the problem, my manager used this as an opportunity to discourage me from speaking up further. This entire conversation was recorded with my manager's full knowledge and consent. Additionally, a senior manager in my department consistently declined notarization requests from the sales team, redirecting all notary work to me despite being equally qualified. When I was finally given authorization by the Director to take my 30-minute break, I returned to find 7 notarization documents piled on my desk — the senior manager had declined to handle them during my authorized absence.
