Vantaggi
I worked at Sound United / Masimo for more than 5 years and had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented and passionate individuals who truly care about the brands and products.
Svantaggi
However, my experience was marred by the toxic and incompetent Masimo consumer management team put in place after the Masimo acquisition, which consistently made decisions that hurt the business and employees alike. The current COO and his close team are out of touch with the needs of the business and seem more focused on personal agendas and self-preservation than on driving growth and success. They make decisions without fully understanding the impact on the company, leading to a series of bad decisions that have had far-reaching consequences and damaging business impact. One of the most frustrating aspects of working at Masimo was the lack of accountability and willingness to admit mistakes from Management. When things went wrong (which was often), the management team would shift the blame onto others, rather than taking responsibility for their own errors. This created a culture of fear and mistrust, where employees were hesitant to speak up or suggest new ideas for fear of being attacked or ostracized. The company's current direction is concerning, with a focus on short-term gains over long-term sustainability. This is evident in the company's recent decisions and the impact on its financial performance. It's clear that the management team is more concerned with maintaining their own interests than with preserving the company's revenue and brand equity. For any potential buyer, I would caution that the company's foundation and brand equity are still intact. However, the current management team's actions have significantly impacted the business, and a change in leadership could be a crucial step towards restoring the company's growth and success.
