Vantaggi
- Work life Balance - Dev org does care about customers and helping move engineering, science and technology forward. - Lots of good people in dev who "do the right thing" - Private offices - Lots of training If you want to start a career, get a few years of training in development, UX, or QE and take those skills elsewhere, this might be a good place for you. If you want to wind down your career and coast into retirement, this is a good place for you. It's slow moving and there are enough perks to keep you comfortable.
Svantaggi
- Very little career growth opportunities. - Very little support for employees. for instance, very few people in the UX group are approved to do site visits, talk to actual customers, go to conferences, contribute to the larger UX community or get the software that is essential for doing their jobs. - UX team puts more effort into making themselves seen and indispensable to the org than delivering value to customers by improving the software. (note: doing the latter will cause the former to happen, not the other way around). - Too much overhead and process to appease upper management - Lack of transparency and vision - Low morale - Compensation
