Complete failure of communication, no one tells you how the pipeline works because most people do not know either but are not willing to admit because of bizarre cultural behaviour. The company wiki is so empty it is basically non-existent. This means there are many supervisors there who have worked there for years and have no true understanding of the pipeline and blame artists on their team for issues related to their own lack of pipeline knowledge so projects will not be setup correctly and in many instances other artists working on the show will have to waste time trying to correctly pipeline the show whilst the supervisor ignores them. I worked with one or two supervisors who worked completely outside of the companies pipeline without the HOD or other higher up staffs knowledge, but if you tried to say this they wouldnt really care. Half the supervisors I worked with do not even explain tasks or give any feedback but just remove artists from tasks/projects if someone hasnt guessed exactly what the supervisor wanted doing. Organisation is poor and many times they will try and just use junior artists to pretty much run projects to save money and have someone to blame even though there is a supervisor with many more years experience on the project doing pretty much nothing!?.. This results in senior artists being put onto projects just days before they deliver and having to work 14+ hour days or other wise if they didnt the bad project result would be blamed on them. General communication by most staff is fairly poor which I think is perhaps a cultural issue. I spent huge amounts of time giving aid and advice to some artists but when I needed general questions answered other people did not respond which is almost like they do not want to share information as they are worried about their job. The higher up staff such as COO and company partners will ignore any comments regarding lack of work and remove artists when the company has no work rather then let the actual CEO know what is happening as they would likely lose their jobs (which is probably what should happen instead of artists). The projects shown on their website are far more interesting and higher quality then what you will actually work on. I believe the work done at this company is shared with 1 or 2 other companies so what is shown on the website is possibly not work being completed by artists there. If you work with artists in their american location it will cause more issues as the pipelines are not compatible so if your supervisor does not know how to integrate work into a pipeline (there is no wiki on this either) then alot of issues will occur.
