As an IP paralegal, I gained exposure to a wide range of IP support tasks, which was valuable for building experience and understanding how a busy practice operates. Many of the perks and recognition initiatives appear to be more focused on fee earners, which can sometimes leave support staff feeling less visible or appreciated. There is also a noticeable distinction between fee earners and support staff, which can contribute to a sense of hierarchy in day-to-day interactions.
