The bar is so low and all the capable people have already left, so it's easy to 'get in' and hold a job there for as long as you want, provided you have no real aspirations and you don't mind changing your job spec whenever the MD feels like it.

Svantaggi

Old school mentality, zero thought into planning a sustainable roadmap for any support functions, the company still thinks sales and purchasing are the only ones 'keeping the lights on' whilst the rest are just costing them money and not producing anything.

Have the processes and backing of a large international organisation (Sonepar) whilst retaining the feel of working for the smaller, locally owned business that it used to be. The people are kind, welcoming and supportive. For the most part everyone works towards the same goal. Development and internal progression are a big focus across the business. Salaries are reviewed and increased yearly.

Svantaggi

Have to have been with the business for two or three years before you would be considered for development. Skillset, prior experience or aptitude doesn't have much impact on this.
