What a company and ride. I learned a ton and that's all that matters in my opinion. I had direct exposure to building an ad business that I would never had before so I am one of the only "thankful" ones and stay committed the entire way through.

Everyone from the top down was given a great opportunity to do something special. A majority of those folks did not put in the time to bring it home and continued to make excuses. Unfortunately, our Founder hired people who were very bad at their job and who were really bad people too. Not his fault, he had never built a business like this before. He hired a CEO/President/Management team that made the wrong strategic decisions that were pretty simple, bad acquisitions and could not secure investments because of their decision making. Really bad end to a story that had an unlimited amount of potential.

I worked for a company that was acquired by MediaShift (TAN). It was hard to be apart of a company that was on the decline, but I can't image MediaShift would be like that now.

There are a few good people still working at Travora and you get to drink at work when the team from California isn't in the office.

When acquired by MediaShift, after all of the layoffs and speculation that the company was going out of business, the employees that stuck around thought things might get better. It hasn't. As a result, a lot of good talent continues to leave. The new management team that was brought in seems more interested playing politics and micromanaging instead of making solid business decisions. They continue to lose more key publishers due to bills that are months overdue, low rates, and poor sell through. We were asked to shift direction day to day and there seemed to be a lack of follow through and focus. Management spends a lot of time traveling, attending trade shows and socializing at the expense of much needed but less fun work. I had my concerns about the ethical values of the company. They do not seem to care about following laws or standard HR procedures. It doesn't make for a great work environment. If you speak up, you will be terminated or pushed out. At the end of the day, I found my heart just wasn't in it anymore and knew there were better jobs out there.
