Supervisors, line mangers, coworkers are incredible people

Genuinely the worst company I've ever worked for. I've worked in retail, sales, and fast food previously and even they seemed to care more about me as an employee than Medpace ever did. Some of the people there are amazing. The building is pretty even though it's actively gentrifying the area. Could be a good company if the CEO and the company actually treated employees like human beings instead of numbers. No maternity/paternity leave benefits. The company recently announced they were lowering bonus and merit raises because "the rise of the cost of living has fallen". They also essentially had a mass layoff disguised as policy enforcement. There is no reason that highly qualified and well performing employees should be fired without any prior warning due to breaking a superficial policy that's only in place to enable micromanagement. The complete and utter disrespect to employees who have dedicated their professional lives to the benefit of the company is appalling. They focus on entrapping every young unknowing graduate they can trick into a low wage and non-compete agreement which prevents employees from being hired at ANY other CRO across the ENTIRE COUNTRY for a YEAR after their leave whether willingly or not. Their entire structure is designed to prey on people who want to advance their career while making it almost impossible to leave once they realize their self worth and how little Medpace cares about its employees. The CEO will literally have to approve every applicant and minor change in position because he feels the need to micromanage the entire workplace. The insecurity requires everyone to come into the office on "Together Tuesdays" even though their buildings don't have the capacity and most of their employees have no reason to come into the office and waste time and money. The amount of disrespect and disregard towards long term employees is remarkable. Do not expect efforts to be made for you as in individual by the company. You are absolutely a number that can be removed if you don't act exactly how the CEO wants you to, regardless of the fact that you're individual human and professional. It's no wonder they've lost so many people even with their scare retaliation tactics. Unless they change something they're going to continue to be the laughing stock of the research community. When the non-compete ban goes into effect, I'd expect the company to see a massive loss in employees as most would leave the company in an instant without the agreement. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

We are saddened by your thoughts of the organization. We feel that combined with our flexible scheduling, PTO packages, and our updated work-from-home policy, that employees have a generous amount of flexibility in their work schedule to meet their needs. Eligible employees are given a bank of work-from-home time that equates to approximately 8-10 days per month. We do require compliance with all Medpace organizational policies which all employees review and acknowledge on an annual basis. Failure to comply with Medpace policies, for example the Remote Work Policy, may impact eligibility for discretionary bonus and merit increases. In regard to maternity leave benefits, Medpace does offer maternity leave and provides salary continuation coverage through our short term disability policy. Like most companies within the United States our maternity benefits are limited in duration, but we support our associates and their growing families through all phases of life. Our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we encourage all employees to escalate their concerns to their direct supervisor and Human Resources Representative.

The timing of recent layoffs shortly before the holidays created significant stress and uncertainty among remaining employees. While I understand that difficult business decisions sometimes need to be made, announcing large scale terminations during this period understandably caused fear, anxiety, and decreased morale for those who were left wondering if they might be next. This atmosphere made it difficult for employees to focus fully on their work and enjoy what is typically a meaningful time of year. Greater transparency around the reasoning, future plans, and reassurance for remaining staff would have helped reduce speculation and emotional strain. During the recent snowstorm, employees were required to use their quarterly wfh allotment or borrow from a future quarter despite hazardous travel conditions and the fact that many roles can be fully performed remotely. While I understand the importance of maintaining consistent policies, situations involving extreme weather feel exceptional and create unnecessary stress for employees who are still prepared to work productively from home while prioritizing safety. This situation highlighted an opportunity for improvement. Offering a complimentary remote day during extreme conditions would demonstrate stronger support for employee well being while allowing business operations to continue smoothly.
