The finance leadership has done an exceptional job nurturing the most toxic work environment possible. Mid-level managers are seemingly hired based on their ability to deflect responsibility onto their staff rather than their technical competencies while existing employees are expected to work 60+ hours for below market compensation. Those who dare propose ways to improve work life balance for the team are pushed out of decision making processes and even "encouraged to look elsewhere". Rest assured that you will have ample opportunity to discover and create new processes. Finance leadership has a habit of pushing out the longest and most knowledgeable employees without a transition plan, leaving the rest of the teams scrambling to pick up the pieces. Think you'll at least be doing interesting and value-add work? Think again. The systems and infrastructure are constantly in a chaotic state, with zero foundation to speak of. 80% of the team is doing manual work which could have been avoided if the finance leadership cared to implement the right systems or enable the success of their team. Take a look at the 90% turnover from the finance teams in the past 1-2 years to visualize just how toxic, condescending, and disrespectful finance leadership is. Everything is your fault, the leaders never take accountability and you are thrown under the bus the first chance they get. And to wrap it all up, team is constantly working 60-80 hour weeks, never gets promoted or rewarded other than a public "thank you" to pay lip service, and everyone is expendable unless you suck up to management.
